The Power of 10,000

Together, we are powerful. Together, we are 10,000 Women.

10,000 Women Louisiana presents

the award-winning film The Librarians

Manship Theatre

Baton Rouge

Mar 13 from 6pm to 9pm CT

Be a Guardian of Democracy

Be inspired by the courageous librarians on the front lines of the fight against censorship — defending intellectual freedom, protecting access to ideas, and upholding the Constitution in their communities.

The evening begins with a powerful pre-film panel conversation featuring Amanda Jones, who is featured in the film, alongside Lynette Mejia of the Louisiana Citizens Against Censorship. Together, they will frame the urgent challenges facing libraries, educators, and democracy itself.

After the film, Amanda Jones will remain for a book signing of her memoir, That Librarian — her Louisiana story of leadership, resilience, and courage in the fight against local book bans.

🎟 Seating is limited. Please purchase your tickets early.

Join us for an evening of film, conversation, and action — and support 10,000 Women Louisiana, the statewide leadership and advocacy network for progressive women.

Our Mission

10,000 Women Louisiana is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the voices, leadership, and power of women across Louisiana.

Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, we work to ensure that women’s rights, health, and opportunities are protected and expanded.

Our History

10,000 Women Louisiana began as a bold vision: to unite women across the state to build collective power and influence.

In its first years, the organization launched advocacy campaigns on reproductive health and maternal care, created leadership development programs to support women running for office, and established community-based policy conversations through its Wisdom, Wine & Women series.

By 2025, 10,000 Women Louisiana had grown into a statewide movement with thousands of supporters, laying the foundation for its long-term goal of mobilizing 10,000 women to change Louisiana’s future.

Programs
