October 2026 · Voting

On October 17, No Kings events in nine Louisiana cities, including Baton Rouge, encouraged people to vote early in the November 3 midterm election. Nationally, the movement toned down its usual criticism of President Trump at thousands of gatherings that day to focus on voter participation. In Baton Rouge, Indivisible Baton Rouge organized the rally at the State Capitol Gardens. Attendees could check their voter registration and get contact information for both political parties’ headquarters, and afterward any campaign could set up a table nearby to share information. Other Louisiana events took place in Alexandria, Covington, Hammond, Lafayette, New Orleans, Slidell, and Shreveport.
